Katey, Group 2: In "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell, I think that cleverness helped Rainsford win the hunting game. The most clever thing he did that let him win the game is when he was running from the General and got the the edge of the cliff, he realized that he could jump, and swim back to the generals house becuase first of all it was faster than walking, second of all the General wouldn't jump after him, and third of all the General wasn't expecting him back at home, and thats how he won!

There were many attributes in the story that helped Rainsford through his man hunt but the one attribute that helped him the most in my opinion was mental toughness. I think this because you need to have a good attitude and clever ideas to get you through a challenge. You can't have a bad attitude in life and get through a hard challenge that requires mental toughness. Without that attribute I don't think that Rainsford could have made it through his long journey.

Group 1: In Richard Connell’s “The Most Dangerous Game”, Sanger Rainsford, the main character, uses his cleverness to outwit his opponent, General Zaroff, in a hunting game in a strange, remote island where he is the one being hunted, and depending on if he can kill the General first, he may never make it out.
At 1:13 PM , Zach said...
TD, I disagree because he is clever but if he had lost his cool his cleverness would not have done him any good and he would have been killed by general Zarroff. His discipline kept him thinking and able to make vital decisions.

In the story, The Most Dangerous Game, by Richard Connell, mental toughness is very important. Rainsford had to have a lot of this to keep his nerve, or he wouldn't have been able to create all the traps and diversions to help him make it through the game.

Allen, thanks for logging on later during the day, to get your topic sentence on here. Now, take out "I believe" as I know it's your beliefs since you are writing. Plus, it sounds more persuasive without it. Then, change the spelling of: experience and knowledge. Excellent format and topic sentence once these little things are fixed!
